This is one of my favorite "fast-slow food" spots. I cannot "Fast-Slow," because the service is quick but the food is nothing close to fast! It's cooked fresh right there for you & it is D'Lish!!

They don't use real eggs in their breakfast sandwiches. I hate places that are bagel stores and they don't make the egg. "Ehhh" at best

3 star first experience. Really enjoyed my bacon, egg and cheese sandwich and large coffee. Service was friendly, and paying with a credit card was quick and easy with the available technology. Parking wasn't a problem, but I could imagine that it might be later in the day with more traffic and customers, but to be fair, I didn't really walk around the area to find out. If I lived closer, I would be a regular. Looking forward to returning next Saturday!

Best bagels in the area. Fresh ingredients. Great pastries and breakfast sandwiches. Decent prices. My regular stop before the workday. Great to takeout, bht they also have a seating area. Only downfall is that if it gets really busy, they sometimes have a problem getting your order right. But that is very rare and because it can get pretty slammed in there for such a small place. Extremely nice people. I highly recommend Country Bagel.

Having to be at work at 7, I usually roll out of bed at 6:28. I know that if I run a comb through the shambles of my hair and brush the teeth in x-amount of minutes, I will have time to stop for breakfast and still arrive at my office in a flurry at 7:00 precisely. Now, where to stop: few establishments in the borough of West Chester are open before 7AM. There's a Starbucks, a Dunkin Donuts, Country Bagel, and a Wawa. Wawa is altogether too busy for me to run in and out at breakneck speed; Starbucks bagels taste like the dough was mixed with glue, and Dunkin Donuts...no. That leaves Country Bagel, which is always calm and quick with my order. They boast from-scratch-made bagels, and they're not too shabby. Not excellent, but good enough...there's a very nice selection, and an impressive array of specialty cream cheeses. I had an apple-cinnamon bagel topped with pumpkin cream cheese and it was like taking a bite outta autumn*. I appreciate that they slather a whole bunch of cream cheese over the bagel, instead of leaving only a thin film of CC on one side (shoddy) or even worse, slipping in a dinky packet of cream cheese for you to spread a thin film on yourself (insulting). Their coffee is okay. More potable than the bilge-water masquerading as coffee served up at my office. They sadly don't have an expresso machine. They also have breakfast sandwich offerings, including one .99 cent one which is a pretty good buy, and satisfying enough. Their pastries and muffins are okay, not great. A little dry. Still the most preferable pre-7:00 am quickstop option in all of West Chester. 3.5 stars. *pumpkin cream cheese is seasonal, but they have a -lot- of other specialty spreads to choose from.

I go to this place religiously and I feel like yelp needs some more reviews from my side... To the guy who got an on-street parking ticket, The Gay St. Country Bagel has parking right to the side of it, as you're taking the right turn that leads to the chestnut st. intersection, parking on your left. Narrow spots albeit, but If you missed that, it's pretty safe to assume you had a part in the order error. To those complaining about microwave eggs...have you ever microwaved your eggs? They're delicious and quick! Plus, the fact that you can "go to Dunkin' Donuts to get microwaved eggs", trust me I get the same thing everywhere and Dunkin' Donuts is ~$1.50 more than C.B. with less coffee, and not cheaper as one reviewer claims. Their Bagels are the best bagels in the 5-10 mile vicinity as far as I know, better than Wawa and DD., cheaper, great cream cheese options and many unique bagel types (never seen an Egg Everything before). Best part about it is you get better food at much lower prices while supporting a local establishment. On Weekdays, I pay less than $4.00 for an Egg+Cheese+Cream Cheese bagel sandwich (very good off menu item) with a medium coffee. Side note, come at off times during the weekend because there's a line out the door at peak hours. 5 stars because it's the best bagel place in WC, and everyone behind the counter is great, and always happy to get to know their customers! (Despite the "obvious language barriers" that one closeted racist reviewer thought to mention, that aren't actually there). Actually, better yet, don't go there. It's not super busy yet on weekday mornings and I want to keep it that way so I can get my bagel as fast as possible, and eat it in the same fashion. Thanks for reading.

This place is really bad. We were in a rush to grab something quickly and overlooked the appearance. The waitresses were very slow. We ordered breakfast sandwiches on bagels. The bagels were decent but I think they microwaved the eggs. I can go to Dunkin Donuts if I want microwaved eggs. Maybe they get away with the greasy look and service because they are so close to West Chester University and figure that students don't know any better. We do and won't be returning.

If you prefer horrible customer service, this is your place. After driving around the block several times to try to find somewhere to park, I finally edged my way into a metered spot. $.25 for 15 minutes, figured that would be good. I didn't realize what I had in store for me. I had three people in front of me dealing with a cashier with obvious language barriers. After about 20 minutes, I finally got to order and was greeted. 30 minutes later I had the correct order after being given the wrong one twice. No apology was of course offered. The "gentleman" even seemed annoyed that I wanted to get what I actually ordered. Unfortunately, this experience took the better part of 30 minutes and I had a parking ticket waiting for me when I got to my car. For my money, dunkin donuts is two blocks away, has free off street parking, is cheaper, better, and faster. Stay away from country bagel, unless you have a lot of time, don't want to get what you ordered, and like paying fines.

Great prices! I for one, love the smaller boiled bagel variety which they've executed well. The BEST part is the prices though. I had the pork roll egg and cheese on croissant plus a bagel and coffee and it was under ten dollars. Great on the fly and for cheap!!

They microwaved the eggs for my breakfast sandwich in a styrofoam bowl. Epic fail.

They're shaped like bagels, but they're definitely not bagels. They are too bready and they a lack a hard outer crust. I still haven't found a good bagel outside of Jersey.
